The Ghosts of the Old City Tour is where visitors begin to feel the ancient streets after dark.
As evening settles over the nation’s oldest city, the lantern-lit lanes, stone walls, old cemeteries, and centuries-worn buildings begin to take on a different presence. Here, the past is not treated like a stage show. It is revealed through real locations, old legends, tragic histories, and stories that have lingered in St. Augustine long after the people connected to them were gone.
Rather than relying on cheap scares, the experience draws you deeper into the atmosphere of the Old City itself. Places you may have passed earlier in the day begin to feel heavier, quieter, and more mysterious. The city’s Spanish colonial streets, weathered gates, and shadowed corners become part of the story.
By the end of the walk, many guests realize they are no longer simply hearing ghost stories about St. Augustine. They are standing inside them.

The Ghosts of the Old City Tour was exactly what we hoped St. Augustine would feel like after dark. Our guide made the history come alive without making it feel cheesy or overdone, and walking past the old gates, cemeteries, and quiet streets at night gave the whole city a completely different feeling. It was spooky, atmospheric, and genuinely interesting from start to finish. This was easily one of the highlights of our trip.
What’s Included
Ghosts of the Old City includes a guided walking ghost tour through St. Augustine's historic district, led by a knowledgeable local guide. Guests will hear haunted legends, eerie folklore, and real history connected to some of St. Augustine's most atmospheric streets, landmarks, and ancient sites.
What’s Excluded
Transportation, parking, food, drinks, gratuities, and entry into private buildings or paid attractions are not included. This is an outdoor walking tour, and all stories are told from publicly accessible areas.
Cancellations
Guests may cancel up to 24 hours before the tour for a refund; cancellations made within 24 hours of the tour start time, late arrivals, and no-shows are non-refundable.
Tours operate rain or shine, so please dress for the weather and bring an umbrella or rain jacket if needed.
Tours may be canceled or rescheduled for severe weather or unsafe conditions. If we must cancel your tour, you will be offered the option to reschedule or receive a refund.
Pet Policy
Well-behaved pets are welcome on the Ghosts of the Old City Tour, as long as they remain leashed and under control at all times. Please be respectful of other guests, clean up after your pet, and keep in mind that the tour takes place outdoors on public streets and squares.
Accessibility
The Ghosts of the Old City Tour is wheelchair accessible and takes place outdoors through St. Augustine's historic district. Guests should be aware that the route may include city sidewalks, brick pathways, curbs, uneven surfaces, and cobblestone streets, which are common in historic St. Augustine.
